It seems like one of us is always sick. Now it’s me, again.
You guys playing that ODST? You like Halo 3? Enough to buy it all over again? Relax. I’m kidding. Kinda. There’s enough in the game to intrigue me, to pull me into it’s narrative, making me both yearn for more information and pissed that the previous Halo games weren’t given this much backstory love. I don’t whether or not to be upset that my favorite part so far is the audio files you find via health station, pay phone (they still have those in 2552?) or ATM (not that kind of ATM, pervert).
I really wish ODST had just been part of Halo 2. I mean, after all, fighting in the streets of New Mombasa was what they showed as the first glimpse of Halo 2. Bungie would have risked a Raiden-in-place-of-Snake situation, but I have really appreciated the character of this little squad of bad asses.
And the music. The music is very good at making you feel alone in a desolate city… if at times it is a little smooth jazz.

I heard the story for ODST only lasts 3 hours, kinda lame :/

it all depends if your playing the story on legendary or easy and if you have a partner or 3.
p.s. comics are pretty good to

Everyone still gives MGS2 shit for that stunt. I never really minded myself, it gave a new perspective of MGS and Snake. But I digress. Blue Froman a lot of newer games are shorter. Arkham Asylum can be beaten in under a week, I beat Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (anti- reg) in about 3 days, Ghostbusters wasn't to long either. This Halo is going to be more about Multiplayer, I hear it has a L4D Survivor like mode, along with some other interesting junk.
I'm not going to buy it though. My Xbox be dead, and I got to many other games pre-ordered anyway.

I completed the ODST campaign this evening. All told, it probably took me about 8 hours. I putzed around though, looking for all the audio files and generally taking in the scenery. I don't know what I was expecting, but I came away very pleased. I forgot how beautiful some of Halo can be and I was very happy to finally occupy only the human spaces of that universe, even if they too feel a bit alien.
Also, Firefight (the L4D survivor-type mode) will generally take you about 1 hour per round if you are doing it right. And that's with two people. I imagine you could make it further into the rounds if you were playing with a foursome.
I don't know if all of that equals 60 beans for you, but I don't have buyer's remorse.
Fuck, I bought Bionic Commando.

I forgot all about that little opening segment in Halo 2. Looking back on it, I'm still a little pissed that the new and exciting urban combat was all a guise to buy time while a bunch of teamsters hurried to finish up the redesigned Halo sets. "Another Halo ring? WTF!?!"
I haven't gotten into ODST as much as I'd like to – pesky reality and it's "obligations"… I'm hoping to get in some of that Firefight in tonight though. Seems like fun. And the smooth jazz is awesome.

Bannen, if you want to grab a couple rounds, hit me up. You can't play with "randoms", so it's been tough to get more than two people together. I want to get those "200,000 points" achievements and I've only been able to nab two so far. Though, Prepare yourself. Those two successful rounds were both around 1.5 hours each.
Bring a beverage.
