I wanted to name this “Gay on ’til morning”, but didn’t want to over-stimulate with “gay”.

That came out wrong.  I think you know what I mean.

Any of you guys playing Devil May Cry 5 Bayonetta?  It’s good, but it’s fairly similar to something I’ve played before.  I can’t put my dual revolvers on it, but I’m willing to bet my smarmy one-liner you know which game I mean.

People (reviewers) are saying it is revolutionizing action games.  I have no idea why they are saying this.  It just feels like another action game to me.  Am I missing something?  It has so much in common with Devil May Cry 3, it’s ridiculous.  Maybe I just need to play more of it.

BTW – DMC3 wasn’t overly hard.  I don’t understand how it got this reputation.  In fact, it was my favorite in the series.  Rolling “Gunslinger” with Ebony and Ivory as your primary and the shotgun secondary lead to some of the most awesome combos I’ve ever seen.  It was a game whose rewards were so satisfying that I played through it almost 4 times.  I doubt I will do that with Bayonetta.

Then again, I never really do that anymore.

Whatev.

I got Bayonetta. I can totally see where you are coming from.

It's fun, it's overly sexy, combos are over the top… But none of it screams 'come back and play more' to me ( I did play Fallout 3 to the point I was up for days straight prior to buying Bayonetta). I can't put my finger on why I don't feel that way though, and that well and truly annoys the hell outta me when I shelled out $60. The choice was Bayonetta or Darksiders. So Dante after a sex change or a WOW avatar+Zelda+God of War+Portal. So yeah I'm confused, and frustrated, and you never get a good look at her naked boobs anyway…

Bayonetta is still good, but I just don't get the hype. I feel you on the "come back and play more" thing. I think it has a lot to do with the story being whatev and the characters kind of sucking. What is with the Joe Pesci/eggplant guy? Are his arms too short or is it just me?

I really want to get my hands on Darksiders. Why? Because I have not played a lot of the Zelda games, so I figure that part won't feel derivative to me. Also, that art looks amazing. I really, really like what I've seen.

Hell, I want to do a Darksiders comic just so I can draw that stuff.

The 4 Horseman sitting around a card table, playing poker to determine who gets to star in Darksiders? :P

I’m with you on Darksiders. I really want to play it, and since I have had minimal exposure to Zelda over the course of my life, I feel like Darksiders’ take on the material will seem somewhat fresh and new. Perspective is everything, I guess.

I'm almost done with Bayonetta. The reusing of bosses in stupid ways is really getting to me. About the that on dude (not cool enough to be Joe Pesci), I think he was just like a nobody, I haven't seen him in like 10 chapters.

As for the Zelda games stuff. If you have a Wii or can get your hands on a gamecube (like $30 at gamestop) get Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess. It is without a doubt worth the money. The best of the batch IMO.

I have a sneaking suspicion that, if I were a kid who were relatively new to video games, Darksiders may be the best thing that ever happened to me.

Think about it: 9 year old kid, new Xbox, game with Zelda/God of War stuff going on? That is a recipe for a life changing game experience. Sure, a purist may have a problem with that. "BUT THEY STOLE ALL THAT STUFF! HE'S LIVING A LIE!!" – I, however, do not.

When I was a kid, I played a little game called "Beyond Oasis" which took Zelda and combined it with a Final Fight or Streets of Rage kind of fighting system, along with some bigger sprites that, at the time, equaled better graphics. Sound similar to anything? I only rented the game and ended up keeping it for close to two weeks past its due date. My mom was SUPER pissed. In the early 90's, that's like, 7 times the late fee.

    So, yeah. Darksiders, please.

I keep wanting to put Twilight Princess on my Gamefly queue, but there's always something new coming out. I have only ever heard good things.

I want to be clear about my Zelda playing. I have played the original a bunch of times and was a huge fan of Link to the Past. I also got down on some Ocarina, Wind Waker, and Phantom Hourglass but never finished any of those.

As for Bayonetta, I really am having fun with it. It is probably the best rental I've played in the past two weeks ;)

I beat it earlier. The end is… well hilarious. Don't want to give any spoilers.

I think the game dragged a bit in the middle. I enjoyed the last 2 chapters the best for some reason.

It is a good rental, I just think I'm having a bit of buyer's remorse.
