I can’t tell you how good it feels to return to form! I’m also proud to say that, despite the Universe’s blatant attempts to wreck our posting schedule, we didn’t miss a single deadline during the holidays. This is our gift, and it is for you.
There’s not an ounce of truth in today’s comic, but that’s okay. We’re fiction writers and it’s in our job description to, from time to time, lovingly lie to you.
When I gleefully shared the phrase “Vox Moduli” with Paul, I assumed he knew what I was talking about. Yes, it is Latin. No, it has nothing to do with Deus Ex Machina. I was referencing the saying “Vox populi, vox dei.” Roughly translated, it means “The voice of the people is the voice of god.” It’s something hack politicians say when they want to seem insightful. I wanted to used it as a label for the device Frank is using to dupe LeBeouf into doing a sequel to a horrible movie.
Not that he needs help in that area or anything.
I’m not a zealot, you know. I don’t hate people that liked the Transformers movie. It’s just, well, I don’t understand you. Much the same way I don’t understand how anyone could ever, in a million years, think that the actual deposed King of Nigeria wants them to hold on to eleventy billion dollars for him.
It is simply beyond my understanding. If people like that were kept in zoos, I would stand for hours with my head tilted like a confused puppy, peering into their jellied eye-sockets and trying to convince myself that there’s a real person in there, buried somewhere under the mounds of helpless ignorance.
Oh, and big news! Paul did the inking for today’s comic. That’s right, folks. This is the very first TCG comic to be created entirely without pencils, and I think we did a bang up freaking job. Sure, he’s a novice with the tablet, but you’re only born knowing how to do two things in life; shit and complain.
C’mon, readers. Assault us with your comments. They’re like food to us.
